BPH and prostate cancer

BPH is the prostate condition most likely to plague men, usually occurs in more than half of all US males between the ages of 60 and 70, and up to 90% of those between ages 70 and 90. The odds of this usually come down to a coin toss, since half of all men will suffer this condition sometime during their life. BPH is caused by the overproduction of prostate cells, making the gland expand until it obstructs the urethra, making urination very difficult, often requiring a man to push or strain in order to urinate. In extreme cases, a male won’t be able to urinate at all, which is an emergency situation that requires prompt attention.
