Even though shingles is not usually a fatal illness, as many as 25% of people that have had the chicken pox will develop at least one episode in later years. Along with many other causes for health care concern, the cost of treating shingles in an increasingly aging population may prove very expensive. While prevention is always better than trying to deal with active illness, finding a shingles cure may be the best way to manage the disease until it is erradicated through immunizations.
