How much you will be losing while on south beach diet depends on quite a number of factors. Losing weight becomes easy in the first two weeks of the SBD plan. A person can expect to lose weight fast and as much as 8 to 14 pounds in the initial stage itself if you monitor your diet effectively. If an individual does not let boredom set in then sticking to the plan becomes easy. However, the next two weeks with the gradual introduction of foods with a tad higher carbohydrate level the weight fall becomes as insignificant as 1 to 2 pounds per week. If somebody has a lot of weigh to lose then it is advisable to stick to Phase 1 for 3 to 4 weeks but never more than that.
